So, What Does a Camino Really Cost?

Let’s be honest — planning a Camino can feel like booking a spiritual awakening and an endurance event and a holiday, all rolled into one. The logistics? A bit of a maze. The costs? A little mysterious. So, let’s break it down together — no fluff, no overwhelm, just real talk from someone who’s walked the walk.

Whether you’re joining us on a guided Camino or braving the trail solo, here’s what to expect when budgeting for your big walk.

Camino Ingles 2024

Guided Camino with Esta Vida Retreats: What You Get

We’ve designed our guided Camino trips to remove the stress and add the sparkle so that you can focus on the walk, the scenery, and the conversations (with yourself or with new friends). Our groups will be small (max 14) and exclusive. Here's what's included in our package:

  • 🛏️ 7 nights' accommodation in comfortable 2–3 star hotels (with private rooms where possible — no bunk beds here!)

  • 🧳 Luggage transfers each day, so you walk light while your suitcase rolls ahead like royalty

  • 🥾 Training plan & support months in advance — we walk you through every step (before you take one)

  • 📱 Dedicated WhatsApp group for encouragement, tips, and a few giggles

  • 🧭 Your guide (that’s me & him!) walking with you every day — helping with logistics, directions, and keeping spirits high

  • 📜 Pilgrim Passport – so you can collect stamps and memories

  • 👕 Exclusive Esta Vida Walking T-shirt – wear it with pride (and maybe a bit of sweat!)

  • 💶 Early bird cost: €950–€1050
(We’re keeping it fair and transparent — no “Pilgrim Platinum” nonsense)

💸 What’s Not Included (But You’ll Want to Budget For)

These extras aren't part of your package, but you’ll want them:

  • ✈️ Flights to Spain – €100–€250 (book early, book smart)

  • 🚐 Airport transfers – €50–€70 return (if shared)

  • 🥐 Lunches and snacks – €5–€10/day (that café con leche habit adds up)

  • 🍷 Evening meals – €15–€25/day (Galicia = food heaven, wine included)

  • 🛍️ Souvenirs or extras – like that “I did it!” T-shirt, you swore you didn’t want

💰 Estimated extras total: €350–€500, depending on your taste for tapas and trinkets

👣 A Camino That’s Worth Every Step

When you walk the Camino, you’re not just buying a holiday — you’re investing in you. In time to reflect, in conversations that surprise you, in belly laughs over shared wine, in sore feet and full hearts. For many, it’s life-changing. For some, it’s the first of many Caminos to come (the bug is real, folks!).

So, yes, you’ll spend a bit — but what you gain? Priceless.
