This Life – Why I’m Moving to Galicia and Launching Esta Vida
From walking the Camino to creating soulful retreats for women—how one journey changed everything.
In 2023, I walked my first Camino, and something shifted.
The rhythm of the trail, the beauty of the land, and the quiet time to reflect opened up a new dream: to create something deeply meaningful, rooted in movement, connection, and joy. That dream is Esta Vida Retreats, and it begins in Galicia, Spain.
I began the Camino as a break from the usual routine, but it became so much more. Galicia’s natural beauty, friendly faces, and slower pace stole my heart. I knew almost instantly that this wasn’t just a holiday. It felt like a calling.
After years of running classes in the UK & Ireland I wanted to bring something different into the world. Not just fitness,but confidence, rest, and community, especially for women in their midlife and beyond.
Why Galicia?
Galicia is raw, green, and soulful. With lush forests, thermal baths, medieval towns, and a deep connection to the Camino, it felt like the perfect place to create retreats rooted in nature, wellness, and fun. It’s not polished or pretentious—just real, beautiful, and full of heart.
And yes—there will be wine and laughter too.
Why Women?
I’m a Pilates teacher with a background in personal training—and I’m passionate about women’s health, especially after 45. I know how hard it can be to find time for yourself, to feel seen, or even just to move without pressure.
Esta Vida is for women who want to feel strong, rested, and joyful again. It’s not about “fixing” yourself—it’s about celebrating this life (esta vida) just as you are.
What’s Coming
I’m now splitting my time between Ireland and Spain, finding the perfect venue and preparing for our very first retreat in Spring 2026.
Expect gentle Pilates, yoga, slow hikes, local food (mostly vegetarian/vegan), cultural adventures—and space to just be. These retreats are for women who want movement, meaning, and maybe a bit of mischief, too.
